I know I have a better shot of getting into Yale for law school than seeing the new administration in Washington enact this policy, but I'll give it a shot anyhow. Our federal tax system is broken and out of control. The amount of time it takes to earn enough money to pay your entire federal tax burden has steadily come later and later each year.

Lauren Wade, a sophomore anthropology major from Athens, looks to Connor Gillis, a senior anthropology major, as they lie inside sketches of bodies Thursday at Tate Plaza.

The drawings represent two of the 23 outlines which represent a person killed this year as a result of a hate crime. The event was for the Transgender Day of Remembrance, which honors transgender people who died because of their lifestyle.

My big brother Matt always left the toilet seat up. The disgusting plastic bottles he used to spit tobacco were all over the house. We ran to our mother with our arguments - both adults yet still pushing and shoving like toddlers. Matt brought out the fire and claws in me - all good big brothers do, I suppose.

The very reason why Democrats want Jim Martin to be elected the U.S. Senator from Georgia may be what ultimately causes his defeat, a University professor and renowned elections expert told Athens business executives Thursday.

In a Rasmussen poll released Wednesday, "52 percent of Georgians polled said if Georgia does seem to determine whether Democrats get 60 seats, they'll be less likely to vote for him," said Charles Bullock, political science professor of legislative politics.
