The University's Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Equestrian team, finished second in overall team points at its first show of the season on Sept. 21 at the Silverthorn Farm in Athens.

Berry College placed first overall with 30 team points with Georgia nipping at its heels with 29.

A shouting match broke out at Tate Plaza Thursday when an open air preacher interrupted a scheduled rally by the Hispanic Student Association.

Celina Correa, the organization's president, told Brother JK to stop preaching when he showed up at Tate Plaza toting a poster board that condemned various groups such as "ankle biters" and "sports nuts.

A former University staff member was awarded nearly $1.3 million Thursday in a federal lawsuit against her former supervisor - the University's head of the grants and contracts department.

The 72-hour reporting policy on campus arrests is only intended to deal with the "most egregious behavior," University President Michael Adams told students in a forum Tuesday.

- That unicycle kid is awesome! I see him around campus all the time but I'm afraid if I go talk to him he'll fall over or something. But seriously, very cool.

- West Georgia must have the world's only convienence store whose hours are inconvienent. Closing on Fridays at 4:30 and 6 - 10 on Sunday? How is that helpful?

- Why does SGA feel the need to waste more student dollars making signs touting their only accomplishment of the past several semesters? I'm glad "they delivered," but aren't those extra exclamation points a bit excessive??? How about offering a free seminar on punctuation use ?

Although new to the Marietta campus, Griffin has worked with Georgia Highlands College since 1996, first teaching math and then later acting as interim math coordinator.
